Made by Google 2025: Pixel 10 and the intelligence of the new
Google celebrated 10 generations of Pixel at its Made by Google 2025 event, presenting the Pixel 10 family—Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold—with a focus on on-device AI, new camera capabilities, and hardware optimized around the Tensor G5. The novelty is in how these pieces work together for real tasks: live call translation, contextual suggestions, and photography assisted by generative models.
AI at the center: Gemini in everyday tasks
The Gemini + Tensor G5 combination enables features designed to reduce friction:
- Magic Cue: analyzes context (messages, emails, calls) and suggests useful responses or actions.
- Camera Coach: real-time framing and lighting guide.
- Voice Translate in calls: instant translation that maintains the speaker’s voice, processed locally for privacy and fluency.
- Gemini Live / Conversational Editing: multimodal interaction and editing by natural instructions. These functions are the core of the Pixel 10 experience and explain a large part of its competitive advantage in daily use.
Hardware that enables AI: Tensor G5
The new Tensor G5 (manufactured by TSMC) brings a clear leap in AI capability and efficiency. Compared to the previous generation, +34% in CPU and +60% in AI performance (TPU) are cited, which makes it viable to run complex generative models without depending on the cloud. In addition, the Pixel 10 maintains entry prices similar to the Pixel 9.
Cameras and computer vision
The Pixel 10 raises the bar in zoom and intelligent assistance: the Pro/XL models integrate “Pro Res Zoom” up to 100× supported by diffusion models to preserve detail; on-device processing reduces latency and favors privacy. Together with Camera Coach and processing improvements, the result is a more guided and consistent capture-editing flow without leaving the phone.
Screens, battery, and charging
The series reaches up to 3,000 nits of brightness (peaks)—key in direct sunlight—and maintains 120 Hz. Qi2 compatibility and a line of magnetic accessories (Pixelsnap) for charging and secure holding are new. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold expands the internal panel to 8” with the same brightness level and improvements in battery and hinge.
Connectivity: satellite and what it implies
The Pixel 10 adds satellite location sharing (Google Maps and Find Hub) for contexts without coverage, in collaboration with Skylo and T-Mobile. On the watch, Pixel Watch 4 incorporates two-way SOS messaging via satellite without a mobile phone. These capabilities expand the reach of basic services (security, coordination) outside the cellular network.
Software and life cycle
The Pixel 10s arrive with Android 16 and the new Material 3 Expressive interface; Google maintains its strategy of periodic updates (“Pixel Drops”) and extends AI transversally to system apps. The focus: recurring, non-theatrical utilities integrated into the daily flow.
Ecosystem: Gemini beyond the mobile
Gemini for Home will begin early access in October on Nest speakers/displays, with free and paid options. It offers daily summaries, home control, and more natural conversations, and will progressively replace Google Assistant. For teams and homes that already use Google services, it is a logical step to unify assistance and context.
Availability in Spain
- Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL: pre-sale open in Spain after the announcement (August) and shipping from August 28, 2025. The Google Store Spain lists local promotions and product sheets in Spanish.
- Pixel 10 Pro Fold: release on October 9, with initial availability limited by country; for now, it is not listed for Spain.
Google versus its competitors
Apple emphasizes the cohesion of its ecosystem and Samsung scales in formats and screen brightness; Google seeks its own space with on-device AI that acts in real time and with context—from the voice that translates in calls to the suggestion of actions in apps—supported by Tensor G5. The differentiation is not about spectacular figures in sensors or inches, but about immediate intelligent response without leaving the device.
The Pixel 10 stands out for integrating practical AI into every interaction: live voice translation, camera aids, and contextual suggestions, all on hardware that prioritizes local execution, high brightness, and expanded connectivity—including satellite. In Spain, the main models are ready this launch week; the Fold will arrive later in selected markets.
